Casa Lecanda is a small, upscale boutique hotel located in the historic center of Merida, on a quiet street just two blocks from Paseo de Montejo.
The hotel is housed in a restored 100-year-old building. The courtyard features a swimming pool surrounded by elegant white arches and lush green foliage. The arches and Moroccan-style lighting give the building a Moorish feel. Much of the design maintains the original features of the building. At the back of the hotel are two beautifully appointed suites overlooking the garden. Interesting and unique pieces of furniture designed by the architect complement the design, as do the unusual floor tiles in some of the rooms. The beds are deep and comfortable.
Guests can take a dip in the pool, sip a cocktail on the lounge-style rooftop terrace, or take cooking classes in the hotel kitchen.
There is no restaurant on site, but some of Merida’s best restaurants and bars are just steps away.
