Day 1: Cancun - Altun Ha - Belize City - Belmopan - San Ignacio
In the morning, departure from Cancun, south, towards the border with Belize. Crossing the border with Belize. We issue visas on the spot. Ancient Mayan city of Altun Ha. Short stop in Belize City and Belmopan - the capital of Belize. Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 2: San Ignacio
We will devote the whole day to the caves in San Ignacio in Belize. In the Aktun-Tunichil-Muknal (ATM) cave, Mayan skeletons, pottery and stone artifacts were discovered. The most famous of the human remains is called the "Crystal Girl": the skeleton of a teenage girl, possibly sacrificed, whose bones became covered with natural deposits over time and appeared sparkling when discovered (hence the name). Several more skeletons were discovered in the main chamber. You can get into the cave by wading or swimming through a large pool. It's very cool there. Overnight in San Ignacio in a small hotel.
Day 3: San Ignacio - Tikal - Flores
Early in the morning departure from San Ignacio and transfer to Guatemala. Border crossing. Transfer to Tikal. Tikal is the coolest ancient Mayan city. The total area of the city is 60 km2. This is the most significant archaeological site of the ancient Mayan civilization. The tallest pyramid in Central America is located here and you can climb it. Star Wars was filmed here. You can spend the rest of the day in Tikal and watch the sunset. Overnight in the city of Flores, which is located on an island in the middle of Lake Peten Itza.
Day 4: Flores - Semuc Champey - Coban
Early in the morning transfer to Semuc Champey, a national park in the mountains in Guatemala. There are caves, waterfalls, a mountain river. Overnight at an eco-lodge in the town of Koban.
Day 5: Coban - Guatemala City - Antigua
Moving to Guatemala City. In general, we will not spend the night in capitals. It is always very noisy here, there are a lot of cars and people. Therefore, we will only stop by here for a short time. Let's see the old city, Park Central, museums of Guatemalan history, and the city market. Next - transfer to the ancient capital of Guatemala - Antigua - a very beautiful colonial city, surrounded on all sides by volcanoes. There are antique shops, churches, old colonial houses, wine bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and many other interesting things. Overnight in some old colonial hotel.
Day 6: Antigua - Pacaya Volcano - El Salvador
Volcano Pacaya. It will be possible to take horses and climb to the top. Moving to El Salvador. We will drive along the Pacific coast of El Salvador, which is called the Balsam Coast. In the evening we will arrive at a coffee farm, where we will stop for the night.
Day 7: San Salvador - Copan
In the morning, inspection of coffee plantations, coffee tasting and departure to San Salvador. 3-4 hours exploring the city. Let's take a ride around the center, visit the main attractions of the city and shops. Lunch and transfer to Copan in Honduras. This is a very nice colonial town with neat hotels.
Day 8: Copan - Tegucigalpa
Inspection of the ruins of the ancient Indian city of Copan. Transfer to Tegucigalpa. Overnight in the capital of Honduras. Evening city tour.
Day 9: Tegucigalpa - Hot Springs in Nicaragua
If we find something interesting in Tegucigalpa, we’ll stay to see, if not, then immediately after breakfast we’ll go to Nicaragua. In the evening we will arrive at the Hervideros de San Jacinto hot springs - spa, healing mud, massage and other pleasures.
Day 10: Managua - San Juan Del Sur
We're going to Managua. A short stop in the city and then a transfer to San Juan Del Sur Bay. This is one of the most famous resort areas in Nicaragua. Holidays on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 11: San Juan Del Sur
You can choose from viewing real estate (here you can buy a house on the ocean for $120,000), beach, surfing or a trip to Lake Ometepe (this is the best) - to the 2 active volcanoes located on the island.
Day 12: San Juan Del Sur - Arenal Volcano
Moving to Costa Rica. Arenal Volcano, waterfall park. Trekking to the top, hot springs, mud and more. Accommodation at a hotel at the foot of the volcano.
Day 13: Arenal Volcano – Costa Rica Eco Lodge
Traveling around Costa Rica takes about 4 hours. Stay at an eco-lodge. Jungle, monkeys, rafting, butterfly farm. Overnight in the jungle.
Day 14: Costa Rica Eco Lodge - Panama City
Moving to Panama City. Accommodation in a city center hotel. Those who are in a hurry to get to work by the beginning of the new week will be able to fly to Cancun on March 8th.
Day 15: Panama City
A day in Panama City. There is a lot to see: the Panama Canal Museum, the old colonial city, the modern business part.
Day 16: Panama Canal
Transit via the Panama Canal. Transfer to the city of Gamboa. The ship will travel approximately halfway between the two oceans through two groups of locks: Miraflores and Pedro Miguel. The height difference is about 26 meters. The transit program includes: Lake Gatun - one of the largest artificial lakes in the world, the Gaillard section - the narrowest section of the canal, the Las Americas Bridge and the Centenario Bridge.
Day 17: Panama City
Reserve day.
Day 18: Departure to Kanun or wherever you need to go
Changes and additions may be made to the program. We will adjust the route as we travel.
If you wish, you can stop participating in the trip at any time and fly back to Cancun from the nearest airport
